Vegan Options in Washington DC

While traveling in DC, I had the opportunity to try several restaurants out that had vegan options. I thought I would show you a few of my favorites while I was there.

Quickway Hibachi Grill

I enjoyed Quickway Hibachi Grill. It was the closest restaurant to where we currently were and I’m glad we stopped in. It’s a Hibachi Grill that had an option for a Tofu Hibachi Bowl. You can change the teriyaki sauce for soy sauce if you’d like. It was definitely very filling.

Georgetown Cupcakes

I’m sure you have heard of the famous Georgetown Cupcakes. They used to have their own show on TLC. I had no idea if they were going to have any vegan options but I was crossing my fingers and hoping for the best. Just my luck, they had 1 option…vegan apple cinnamon cupcake. The cupcake itself was very delicious. However, I really hope they have more vegan options in the future. If you happen to be in Georgetown, it’s worth stopping by. Note: the bakery itself is very small so I highly recommend grabbing your cupcake and going across the street to the coffee shop. You can grab a coffee to go with your cupcake and they have plenty of seating upstairs!

& Pizza

Who’s hungry for pizza? I love my veggies mixed with carbs so I just had to try out & Pizza. They have two different vegan options for crusts. They also have several options for pizza sauces. I love it because they actually have their vegan items labeled which makes it a lot easier for us vegans. You tell them exactly what you want on your pizza and they’ll make it right in front of you. The pizza was delicious. No complaints. The vibe of the restaurant was fantastic and it was a decent price for pizza.

Hip City Veg

Who doesn’t love a 100% plant based restaurant? Hip City Veg has so many amazing options it was hard to decide what to eat. I went with the Vegan Crispy HipCity Ranch Sandwich and I was not disappointed. It was incredible! I would definitely recommend going there if you have a chance. The only negative thing I have to say about this restaurant is the specific location I went to had hardly any seating available.

BusBoys & Poets

I left this restaurant for last because it was my ultimate favorite. BusBoys & Poets restaurant is phenomenal. It was everything I was hoping for. Not only did it have a really inviting vibe, but it had it’s very only bookstore too. They had so many vegan options, I was overwhelmed. I wanted to eat everything on the vegan menu! I went with the vegan mac and cheese and then the vegan beef sliders. I was not disappointed at all. The serving sizes and cost were decent. Please please got to BusBoys & Poets if you are ever in DC. You will NOT be disappointed!

Since I was only in Washington DC for a few days, I didn’t get to try all of the incredible vegan restaurants that were recommended to me. Next time I’m in town, I’ll have to try more out.
