This is my very first year of being vegan during the holidays. My first thought was that there wouldn’t be much I could eat around the holidays with the family. I am sure there are a lot of newer vegans that have the same thought. However, this is a total myth! There is a substitute for almost every Thanksgiving dish out there. I decided to give my friends an early Thanksgiving dinner to try out a few new recipes. I am excited to say that they all turned out amazing!
What’s on the Menu?
Vegan Cranberry Sauce
What are you making for the holidays this year? Out of all of the recipes above, you HAVE to try the deviled potatoes. Those were both my husband’s and my favorite. Everything was so delicious though. By the end of the evening, we were so stuffed that we couldn’t even make it to dessert. Isn’t that how most holiday dinners go? If you do end up having enough room for dessert, you should try the pumpkin pie recipe above. I’ve made it several times and absolutely love it. I buy a dairy free pre-made crust. If you prefer to make your own crust, I recommend a delicious crust recipe to add to it here.
*Note: One thing I do want to mention is that we used the gravy that came with the holiday roast (delicious by the way). If you don’t want to use the gravy that comes with the roast though, you should be able to find vegan mushroom gravy at any Whole Foods, Natural Grocers, ect.
Hope my Thanksgiving dinner helped give you a few ideas for what you can do for the holidays.
